This article will reveal to you several useful interior design tips. Wikipedia.org defines interior design as the process of shaping the experience of interior space, through the manipulation of spatial volume as well as surface treatment. Interior Design draws on aspects of environmental psychology, architecture, product design and furniture design in addition to traditional decoration. Here are some interior design tips from world-famous interior designer, Clare Pascoe: "You need to consider your own personal preferences, uses of the room, storage requirements, lighting requirements, the mood and so on. No one element is more important than another. They all have to be considered as a whole so we know they will work together. All areas of the project should be considered on paper and thought through stage by stage by someone with experience of the potential pitfalls and how to avoid them, as it is far cheaper to solve problems when they're theoretical and far easier & less time-consuming to take evasive action before the team are on site." When it comes to interior design, it appears that the simple ideas are usually the most successful ones in the long run. Of course, one aspect about interior design that we shouldn't forget about is the budget. Your best bet is to have as large a budget as possible. Some people fall into the trap of thinking that they can do it on a low budget. Although this might be true for guys who are great "do-it-yourselfers", it could lead to some ugly looking results at the end. Be realistic about your budget. See exactly what you can improve with the money you got and don't try to surpass it. If you want to be in control, invest money and time into planning. The thing to remember about interior design is that there is no accounting for space. There are no fixed rules or guides for you to follow. A given style might work ideally for me, but could be worth nothing when applied to the environment of your family and their specific needs and taste. What matters is how you put the things together and how you combine them. You might have some really expensive furniture but if it's not placed right of if it's not in tone with the rest of the home, it won't look as good as it should. There are certain techniques you can apply to mask some defects in your home. For example, if the space is not large enough, you can make it appear bigger by using brighter colors for the walls. Work on lighting the room with a soft, even light. If the ceilings are low, avoid ceiling lights, because they tend to make the ceiling feel even lower. The ceiling should always be the lightest color in the room. |
