Review Of Interior Design Schools

This article provides a review on some of the best interior design schools. In our modern world, education can be the difference between success and failure, so studying at an interior design school can really give the push you need for a successful career in this area. Obviously you are interested in interior design, maybe because you have a natural flair for color, space, and style. But to make the most of your natural talents you need proper training.

Sheffield

Sheffield began as an interior design school in 1985. Sheffield's offices are located in the heart of Manhattan, between Grand Central Station and the United Nations. Sheffield's interior design program offers the quintessential Sheffield experience. The teachers here will help you develop your "designer's eye," teaching you how to combine fabrics, flooring, and furniture for a harmonious interior. And at the same time, you will gain all the practical business information you'll need to start your own career. You can find more information about the course at http://www.sheffield.edu/.

New York School of Interior Design

New York School of Interior Design is New York's only private, not-for-profit college dedicated solely to interior design education. NYSID is the premier place to study interior design with its great location, superb facilities, distinguished faculty, as well as its challenging and comprehensive curriculum that gives emphasis to both residential and contract design. With over 700 students, it is the largest interior design program in New York but retains a small-college atmosphere with a student-faculty ratio of about 10 to 1. NYSID is authorized by the Board of Regents to confer the degrees of associate in applied science in interior design (AAS), bachelor of fine arts in interior design (BFA), and master of fine arts in interior design (MFA). The college offers a variety of financial aid programs, and Tuition Management Systems offers a plan under which students may arrange to finance tuition with monthly payments on a per semester basis for a nominal fee. The graduate student in the Interior Architecture & Design program will be prepared for professional practice through integrated theory, design and technology in tandem with industry standards. The graduate student will be taught to achieve a balance between the mastery of design skills that meet the needs of the profession, and the creativity and imagination that will lead to better ways of thinking about our environment. To Curious. I was referred to check out Sheffield's school by designer Ada Gonzalez. I connected with her on Facebook and fell in love with her work. Turns out she took Sheffields course. Look for yourself at adasdecoratingsolutions website

Does anyone have real experience with Sheffield's Online Interior Design Program? I am interested in taking this course. As an at home homeschooling mom in BC, Canada my options to further my education are limited to online programs. Or are there other quality interior design distance programs available out there that I should know about?

I am a student currently studying interior design, and I can honestly say that I never for one minute thought it would be so involved and complex. The above definitions of the various courses capture some of the complexities. It sure is a tough environment.
